Everything you need to know about the Kiyoshi Omakase experience
Omakase (おまかせ) means "I'll leave it up to you" in Japanese. Unlike ordering from a menu at a regular sushi restaurant, omakase is a chef-curated multi-course experience where the chef selects and prepares each dish based on the freshest seasonal ingredients available that day. At Kiyoshi Omakase in Overland Park, our chef prepares each course live at the counter, creating an intimate and interactive dining performance that goes far beyond traditional sushi dining.
Omakase offers a fundamentally different experience from regular sushi dining. You're not just paying for food — you're investing in a curated culinary journey featuring the highest-grade ingredients, expert chef craftsmanship, and a live performance where each course is prepared right in front of you. At Kiyoshi Omakase, our $98 per person 14-course experience includes premium ingredients like A5 Wagyu beef and caviar that would cost significantly more at comparable restaurants in major cities like New York or Los Angeles.
At Kiyoshi Omakase, you'll be seated at the counter directly in front of our chef. The experience begins with lighter appetizers and progresses through sashimi, nigiri, specialty courses featuring premium ingredients like bluefin tuna otoro and A5 Wagyu, and finishes with a dessert course. Each piece is prepared and served one at a time, allowing you to appreciate the craftsmanship and flavors of every course. The full experience typically lasts about 90 minutes.
Our omakase experience is $98 per person for a 14-course progression featuring premium ingredients including A5 Wagyu beef, foie gras, black truffles, and premium caviar. Beverage pairings including sake and wine are available separately.

While there is no strict dress code, we recommend smart casual attire to match the refined atmosphere of the omakase experience. Business casual, cocktail attire, or elegant evening wear are all appropriate. We kindly ask guests to avoid overly casual clothing such as athletic wear, flip-flops, or tank tops. Dressing for the occasion enhances the overall dining experience for you and fellow guests.
Yes, our chef can accommodate most food allergies and dietary restrictions including shellfish allergies, gluten sensitivities, and specific fish preferences. Please inform us of any dietary needs when you call to arrange your visit so our chef can thoughtfully adjust the menu while maintaining the quality and flow of the omakase experience.
